Håck ma’s!

Let’s hack the Castle!

A new guest has shown up at the castle: Blob.

A curious tentacled creature that escaped from a nuclear power plant and is now trying to understand how our world works.

Open the Castle

Håck ma’s Castle is an open castle for all kinds of nerds. We want to use the castle as an inclusive space, a low-barrier entry point for sharing knowledge and exchanging experiences. Håcken stands for a creative approach to technology—whether it’s computers, sewing machines, society, or stovetops (food is important!).

No one should feel excluded due to a lack of knowledge, a (previous) lack of belonging, or a lack of experience. Our castle has no secret doors—only open spaces where we can tinker, learn, and marvel together.

To break down the many barriers in our society, we also place a strong emphasis on inclusion and strive to remove barriers through measures such as sign language interpretation, guide systems for the blind, or quiet spaces.

Come as you are and be excellent to each other

Ensuring that everyone enjoys participating is one of the event’s most important goals. To make sure everyone feels comfortable, we strive to treat one another with respect, mindfulness, and solidarity.

Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, attending for the first time or a long-time member of the community: everyone should feel welcome and safe. Boundaries are respected, discrimination has no place here, and we treat each other with kindness and support.

The foundation for this is our Code of Conduct, which we all follow together.
